The Radiation Protection Committee of the Brazilian College of Radiology and Diagnostic Imaging (CBR) was created with the mission of establishing, guiding, and promoting initiatives related to radiation protection and safety in diagnostic and interventional radiology services throughout the country. Its work integrates joint actions with scientific societies, academic institutions, international entities, and regulatory bodies, seeking to strengthen the culture of radiation protection and promote safer practices in the use of ionizing radiation.<\/p>

The Commission is dedicated to educating medical professionals, supporting health managers and services in adopting best practices, and bringing reliable information closer to the general public, helping to demystify risks and clarify benefits related to the use of radiation. Furthermore, it plays a fundamental role in standardizing procedures, producing technical content, and disseminating educational materials that support the development of safer and more effective medical practice.<\/p>

The CPR\/CBR also plays an important role in representing Brazil to the main international organizations regarding radiation protection and medical applications of radiation. This positioning allows Brazil to follow global recommendations, incorporating scientific, regulatory, and educational advances into the national context. The Commission's first official meeting, which marked the structured resumption of its activities, took place on February 14, 2019, at the CBR headquarters.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t

With a commitment to permanently strengthening the culture of radiation protection in Brazil, the CBR (Brazilian College of Radiology) restructured its Commission, consolidating a multidisciplinary team composed of radiologists, medical physicists, technologists, and specialists from various fields. The main objective of the CPR\/CBR (Radiation Protection Commission of the Brazilian College of Radiology) is to improve the radiological protection of patients, healthcare professionals, and the general population, promoting safer clinical practices aligned with current national standards and the recommendations of leading international organizations.<\/p>\n

The Commission focuses its efforts on promoting educational activities, producing informational materials, and developing support tools for healthcare professionals. One of its focuses is making documents, campaigns, and content produced by international organizations recognized for their technical excellence in radiological safety accessible in Portuguese. This initiative broadens access to knowledge and has a direct impact on improving the quality of diagnostic imaging services.<\/p>\n

Furthermore, the CPR\/CBR works to disseminate information on radiation protection to the media and opinion leaders, offering clarifications aimed at the general public, contributing to a correct understanding of the risks and benefits of radiation and to combating misinformation.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t
