Workplace, a platform to share knowledge and make contacts launched in June by the Brazilian College of Radiology and Image Diagnosis (CBR) is a great success. The number of interesting cases posted frequently, the discussions generated by them and the various subjects relevant to the area, such as professional defense, have attracted countless professionals to the tool.<\/p>\n

Two of the most active participants, Dr. Euler Campos, from Minas Gerais, who works in several groups, such as General Ultrasonography, Gastrointestinal, Genitourinary, Breast and Pediatric Radiology, and Dr. Marina Taliberti, from Hospital Santa Catarina and Maternidade Pro Matre, in S\u00e3o Paulo (SP), who especially accompanies the Breast and Ultrasound in Gynecology and Obstetrics groups, told a little about her experiences in the workplace<\/em>.<\/p>\n

\u201cI thought it was fantastic. What caught my attention the most was the similarity with Facebook, which enabled multiple interaction resources and made it easy to navigate\u201d, says Dr. Euler. According to him, the tool can help radiologists precisely in terms of the possibility of interaction: \u201cIt opens up a window of opportunity both in the discussion of interesting cases and in attracting professionals\u201d.<\/p>\n

For Dr. Marina, it was difficult to find a way to have an organized personal file, with cases or something relevant that I saw on a daily basis. "As workplace<\/em>, as soon as I see an interesting case, I photograph, film and insert it. It is something very practical\u201d, he praises. \u201cIt is also a way of knowing what other professionals are doing, understanding the references of each region. Anyway, it is difficult to have access to a platform with so much information at the same time\u201d, he adds.<\/p>\n

The radiologist claims to have been very surprised by the positive reaction of the other users: \u201cI didn't think they would respond to my posts, but, above all, they returned quickly. I made several contacts with professionals in my area and all were successful, including renowned people, such as doctors Linei Urban [coordinator of the CBR Mammography Commission] and Ana L\u00facia Kefal\u00e1s [also a member of the commission]. Having the support of more experienced people is extremely important\u201d.<\/p>\n

Both Dr. Euler as Dr. Marina use the tool quite often. \u201cI use it several times during the day, checking the published cases and relevant discussions, in addition to posting several everyday cases\u201d, says the radiologist. \u201cAccess the workplace<\/em> daily and I usually post one or more cases during the week. Even if they are not out of the ordinary, I know they will help residents, for example\u201d, says the professional.<\/p>\n

As final highlights, Dr. Euler believes that being in a restricted and homogeneous group helps a lot in terms of making new contacts. The opinion is shared by Dr. Marina, who sees the tool as a way for colleagues to get to know each other.<\/p>\n
