Support for Bill No. 2,294\/2024 \u2013 National Proficiency Examination in Medicine<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Brazilian College of Radiology and Diagnostic Imaging (CBR) expresses its full support for the substitute text to Bill No. 2,294\/2024, authored by Senator Marcos Pontes (PL-SP), which establishes the National Proficiency Examination in Medicine. The matter will be considered by the Senate's Social Affairs Committee (CAS) next Wednesday, December 3, at 9 am, under the rapporteurship of Senator Hiran Gon\u00e7alves (PP-RR).<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The CBR understands that the creation of a national proficiency exam represents a structuring measure for patient safety, the qualification of medical training, and the protection of society, especially in light of the accelerated expansion in the number of medical courses in the country.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The proposal has broad support from Brazilian society: a Datafolha survey conducted in 2025 revealed that 961% of Brazilians support the implementation of a national exam to ensure minimum standards of professional competence before practicing medicine.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The approval of Bill 2.294\/2024 is fundamental to establishing objective and equitable evaluation criteria, strengthening public trust in medical professionals, and promoting greater equity in training, regardless of the institution of origin.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
