This proves that the sector is not a vector of cost pressure on the system. Conventional radiography (X-rays), the modality with the lowest unit cost, is presented in the document as a demonstrative case of risk that deserves preventive attention.

Central proposal

Given this scenario, the Technical Note proposes to the ANS (National Agency for Supplementary Health) the creation of a Working Group (WG), or technical committee, within the Directorate of Standards and Product Qualification (DIPRO). The idea is for the CBR (Brazilian College of Radiology) to act as a technical interlocutor for the specialty, to analyze the risks to the network associated with and the sustainability of diagnostic imaging.

This initiative aligns with the Agency's strategic priorities regarding the monitoring of the quality and adequacy of the healthcare network.

Institutional positioning

The drafting of this Technical Note reflects the spirit of institutional dialogue which has characterized the relationship between CBR and ANS, including the recent dialogue that resulted in the inclusion of evolutionary reports and the revision of the list of procedures with mandatory coverage.

CBR reaffirms its commitment to the three-pronged approach. access, quality of care and sustainability of the system, and will continue to contribute technically to solutions that preserve the integrity of the Brazilian diagnostic network.
