The Brazilian College of Radiology and Diagnostic Imaging (CBR) was present at Annual Scientific Meeting<\/em> 2026, event promoted by the European Society of Breast Imaging<\/em> (EUSOBI) from October 1st to 3rd, 2026, in Maastricht, Netherlands. The CBR representative was Dr. Ivie Braga de Paula, coordinator of the entity's National Mammography Commission (CNM).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The presence of an official representative from the College at the congress signals a stronger connection with the European institution. Dr. Ivie Braga also participated in the event's scientific program, as moderator of the session \u201cFocus Session 6: Detecting the Important Cancers with AI<\/em><\/strong>\u201d, alongside Dr. Thomas H. Helbich, from Vienna, Austria.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Awards<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Two young Brazilian radiologists received awards at EUSOBI 2026, recognizing the high level of training of the new generation of Brazilian Radiology professionals. The award recipients were Dr. Ana Carolina de Ata\u00edde G\u00f3es, from Salvador (BA), and Dr. Soraia Dami\u00e3o, from S\u00e3o Paulo (SP).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Dr. Ana Carolina was one of ten professionals selected to receive the Breast Imaging Grant<\/em> from EUSOBI. The initiative aims to support young radiologists from different countries and grants those selected a Travel Grant<\/em>, The scholarship includes free registration for the congress and a financial aid of 500 euros. Selection was based on an analysis of the candidates' resumes and a letter of motivation.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Dr. Soraia Dami\u00e3o was awarded the EUSOBI prize. Young Research Grant 2026 <\/em>by the project Multiparametric MRI and Al-based Prediction of Pathological Complete Response after Neoadjuvant Systemic Therapy in Breast Cancer: Integrating Ultrafast DCE-MRI, Diffusion-Weighted Imaging, and Deep Learning. <\/em>This work investigates the integrated use of multiparametric magnetic resonance imaging and artificial intelligence for predicting complete response to neoadjuvant systemic treatment in breast cancer patients. The research results will be presented at EUSOBI 2027, which will be held in Prague.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
