According to the agreement signed with the AMB, only the CBR has the legitimacy to grant and issue specialist titles or certificates in these areas of activity.

According to CFM resolutions (2,148/2016 and 2,221/2018), only after completion of residency accredited by MEC or approval in proof of title granted by specialty societies, through AMB, such as CBR, the professional will have proof of who has adequate academic-scientific training and is able to exercise the specialty with ethics, responsibility and competence.

61% of Brazilian physicians have at least one Specialist Title

Currently, 61.4% of the more than 478,000 Brazilian physicians have at least one specialist title, according to the Brazilian Medical Demography 2020 study, carried out through technical cooperation between USP and CFM. Radiology and Diagnostic Imaging is one of the ten specialties with the highest number of specialists, 3.3% of the total. In the country, there are 6.77 specialists in Radiology and Diagnostic Imaging for every 100,000 inhabitants, according to the survey.

In addition to being able to present yourself as a specialist, the title guarantees the professional advantages in selection processes carried out by many public and private institutions and the possibility of higher remuneration with health plans, among others. Specialist Titles and Practice Area Certificates are issued together with the AMB.
