The third day of the 53rd Brazilian Congress of Radiology and Diagnostic Imaging (CBR 24) featured several relevant activities. The day was full of highlights such as: the Brazilian Radiology Marathon (MBR 24), the 3rd CBR Symposium on Quality and Clinical Management, several intensive courses, activities in the arenas, awards ceremony for the winners of the 2nd CBR Race and Walk, launch of ebooks for undergraduate students in partnership with ESR, in addition to the presentation of scientific papers.

SQG 24

On the last day of the 3rd Symposium on Quality and Clinic Management of the CBR, the Workshop Implementing the new PADI Standard in practice took place. The activity took place from 9 am to 1 pm on September 21 (Saturday). During the Workshop, topics such as the step-by-step implementation of the PADI standard, benefits of PADI accreditation for clinics and patients, and an overview of the main criteria and processes of PADI accreditation were addressed.

Intensive Courses
On the last day of CBR 24, we had several activities on different topics, in total Intensive Courses were held on: Dermatological US, Point-of-Care US and Diagnostic and Therapeutic Neuroradiology.

Arenas

The five CBR 24 arenas had activities during the third day of the event. Here are some highlights from each of them:

Arena Cultura e Humanidade – photography – from art to social media;

Arena Innovation – Presentation – CBR 24 innovation and technology report;

Arena Radiologists of the Future – I’m studying medicine…Why should I study radiology?;

Arena Ultrasonography – Brain, Cranial Sutures and Spinal Cord US;

Professional Defense Arena – public civil action as a class defense mechanism.

2nd CBR Race and Walk Awards Ceremony

The awards ceremony for the 2nd CBR Run and Walk took place on the last day of the event, in the innovation arena, shortly before the start of the Brazilian Radiology Marathon (MBR 24). The best placed runners in the 5 and 10 km races the day before were awarded medals.

Brazilian Radiology Marathon (MBR 24)

The Brazilian Radiology Marathon (MBR24) took place on the last day of the event (September 21), at the Innovation Arena from 12:30 to 13:30 (Brasília time). The interactive competition was open to all CBR24 delegates and offered the opportunity to improve knowledge in Radiology and share ideas with colleagues.

Scientific work

On our last day of the event, the best Scientific Papers submitted this year were announced on a digital panel. The winners were the following papers:

Best Oral Presentations

1st Place – Radiological sarcopenia as a risk factor for detrusor underactivity (Abdominal Genitourinary);

2nd Place – How to select women at high risk for breast cancer during mammography (Breast) screening;

3rd Place – Proposal for ultrasound classification of muscle injuries in football (Musculoskeletal).

Best Electronic Posters

1st Place – Thermal ablation of thyroid microcarcinomas: Increasing applicability and paradigm shift (Interventional Radiology);

2nd Place – It looks like it but it isn’t: pseudofractures of the temporal bone (Head and Neck);

3rd Place – The obscure IPNB course: Simplifying findings (Gastrointestinal).

Launch of ebooks for undergraduate students

The CBR has translated the five e-books for undergraduate courses of the European Society of Radiology (ESR) into Portuguese. The launch took place on Saturday (September 21), at 12:15 pm (Brasília time), at the Innovation Arena. The following people participated in the launch of the e-books by the ESR: Dr. Andrea Rockall – President of the European Society of Radiology (ESR) and Minerva Backer – Responsible for the ESR undergraduate course. The following people participated on behalf of the CBR: Dr. Cibele Carvalho – President of the CBR, Dr. Ronaldo Baroni – Scientific Director of the CBR, Dr. Maurício Zapparoli – Director of International Relations of the CBR and Dr. Dante Escuissato – Member of the CBR. The e-books are free and available free of charge on the CBR website.
