The CBR Radiological Protection Commission is responsible for establishing and promoting initiatives related to radiation protection and safety in diagnostic and interventional radiology services, integrating joint actions with partner societies and institutions, aiming to educate occupationally exposed professionals and the general population, in addition to resolving and demystifying risks related to radiation.
It is also the Brazilian representation to international organizations regarding radioprotection, radiological protection and medical applications. The first meeting, which inaugurated the activities of this group, was held at the CBR headquarters on February 14, 2019.
Goals
Promote initiatives and implement actions related to radiological protection and safety in diagnostic and interventional radiology.
Promote a culture of radiation safety among professionals and educate the general population on the subject, demystifying the risks related to radiation.
Represent Radiological Protection actions in Brazil and worldwide.
Establish partnerships with international organizations to develop campaigns and work in the area.
Assist press organizations and opinion makers in interviews, articles and other informative materials for the general population.
