The scientific journal of the Brazilian College of Radiology and Diagnostic Imaging (CBR) has a new website, a new look, with design more modern. The traditional scientific journal was first published in 1958, and since then it has undergone several transformations until it reached the format and layout current.
The new RB website is much more dynamic and intuitive for those submitting articles and for those browsing. According to Dr. Valdair Muglia – Editor of the Brazilian Radiology Journal, updating the website is important to meet some demands that were being suppressed. The journal editor notes that the search field is more agile, and access to the journal's articles is more user-friendly and easier for users.
The new update improves the experience of those who browse the site, making it even easier and more accessible to find articles. It was with the future in mind and with this aspect in mind that the modernization of the site was based. Dr. Valdair Muglia talks about the article submission process and access to information on the new RB website: “Article submission continues to be carried out by Manuscript Central from the Scholarone. On the new website, there is a link where authors are redirected to the article submission page. However, the instructions for authors are clearer, making it easier to find the requirements, the accepted formats and how articles should be submitted. All this information can be found on the new website, including in another language (English).”

For Muglia, the changes will be good for the continuity and evolution of the journal: “The update of the website is part of a project to modernize the journal and expand its reach and scientific impact, aiming at new indexations, mainly in theJournal of Citation Reports'which provides impact factor for the main international journals, which is one of the medium-term objectives of the journal”.

Learn about the history of RB
RB completes 67 years of existence this year (2025). The first edition of the magazine was published in 1958. At the time, RB was published quarterly, in the months of March, June, September and December. From 1967 onwards, RB began to be published in Rio de Janeiro and received its current name. In 1980, the magazine returned to be published in São Paulo, at which time it underwent editorial and visual changes, acquiring its current form and structure. In 1988, it underwent some modifications in layout of the publication. In the early 1990s, more precisely in 1992, the periodicity stopped being quarterly and became bimonthly. It is worth mentioning that RB is considered one of the most important publications of its kind in Latin America, not only for the quality of its texts and images, but also for its periodicity. Since 2001, the College's scientific journal has been part of the group of journals indexed by Scielo. As of 2006, RB has been available on the internet, through the same portal where articles were submitted. In 2018, the prestigious journal gained the support of the National Council for Scientific and Technological Development (CNPq), which, as a research promotion agency linked to the Ministry of Science, Technology, Innovations and Communications (MCTIC), is responsible for participating in the formulation, implementation, monitoring, evaluation and dissemination of the National Science and Technology Policy. This year (2025), Revista Radiologia Brasileira will have a new website, with a new layout and structure, aiming to further improve and expand the traditional CBR journal.
