The College affirms that the signature of the radiologist, along with that of the nuclear medicine physician, is indisputably mandatory on PET/CT reports, as an expression of the principle of specialization, the personal nature of the medical act, and the sanitary governance applicable to diagnostic imaging services.

The Brazilian College of Radiology (CBR) emphasizes that the absence of the radiologist's signature when there is a tomographic component to be correlated compromises patient safety and the legal security of the procedure, and may constitute an ethical infraction and give rise to civil, administrative, and disciplinary liability.
