CBR achieves legal victory in defense of public health.

Always mindful of public health and compliance with best practices in diagnostic imaging, the Brazilian College of Radiology and Diagnostic Imaging (CBR) has filed a public civil action against two major pharmaceutical chains.

The objective was to suspend the promotion and performance of breast thermography exams in pharmacies, a practice that can mislead the public by inappropriately suggesting that thermography replaces or eliminates the need for essential exams included in public health protocols.

Earlier last week, the CBR (Brazilian College of Radiology) obtained a preliminary injunction, a decision that prevents these tests from being carried out in the units of the pharmaceutical chains involved, reinforcing the need to respect scientific evidence, patient safety, and recognized medical guidelines.

The CBR remains vigilant, acting firmly and responsibly to ensure accurate information and reliable diagnosis.
