CBR18 will have more than ten courses in its scientific program

One of the highlights is the Outreach Course, in partnership with the International Skeletal Society

The 47th edition of CBR18, which will take place from October 11th to 13th at the Windsor Convention & Expo Center – Barra da Tijuca, in Rio de Janeiro, will have several highlights in its schedule. There will be eleven rooms containing simultaneous activities in three days of the congress and more than ten courses in different areas.

The Outreach Course, unprecedented in the Congress, is one of the highlights. Promoted in partnership with the International Skeletal Society (ISS), it will address the anatomopathological correlation of bone and soft tissue tumors.

Classes will be taught entirely by ISS members: Dr. Paul O'Donnel (musculoskeletal radiologist) and Maria Fernanda Amary (pathologist), both from the Royal National Orthopedic Hospital, London, as well as Dr. Marcelo Bordalo, musculoskeletal radiologist at USP, in São Paulo.

The objective of this activity is to address basic aspects of osteoarticular pathology that are essential and contribute to the correct radiological differential diagnosis of bone and soft tissue tumors. This is a traditional course promoted by the International Skeletal Society a few years ago, held annually in several countries in Latin America, Europe, Asia and Africa. Its differential is the case discussion session held to consolidate the knowledge covered in the theoretical classes and promote interaction with the speakers.

The course, entirely in English, will be held in the pre-congress period, on October 10, from 8:00 am to 6:00 pm.

Another highly relevant activity in the program will be the Tomosynthesis Course. It will be a practical course, in which participants will be in individual stations analyzing several cases of benign and malignant pathologies of the breast, with a discussion at the end of each case with the coordinator.

The course is aimed at all physicians who already use Tomosynthesis in their daily practice, as well as those who have not yet had access, but who need to keep up to date with the new technologies offered.

In addition to these highlights, CBR18 will offer the following courses: BI-RADS® Course, PI-RADS® Course, General Ultrasound Hands-on Course, First and Second Trimester Morphological Ultrasound Hands-on Course, Intensive Ultrasound Update Course of the Musculoskeletal System and Course for Technicians and Technologists, the latter without the need to register for the congress.
