CBR warns associates about “escalation”

The Brazilian College of Radiology and Image Diagnosis (CBR), once again, comes to alert the radiological class about the suppression, since the 8th edition of CBHPM, published in 2014, of the rules that suggested financial discount on multiple exams performed in the same patient, the so-called escalation.

The "scaling" occurred in the same service of the same group of exams (4.08.99.00-4 item 12, 4.09.99.00-9 item 5, 4.10.99.00-1 item 4 and 4.11.99.00-6 item 3), with the application deflators, which reduced remuneration, however, we reiterate, this is no longer provided for in the most current CBHPM.

Thus, with this information in hand, we suggest that our associates negotiate the contractual terms with insurance operators and health plans, when renewing or establishing a new agreement, in order to avoid the practice of “scaling up”. ” proposed by some of them, in order to guarantee fair remuneration for the radiological services provided.
