The Brazilian College of Radiology and Diagnostic Imaging (CBR) celebrated an important victory for the specialty with the amendment of the notice for Public Competition No. 01/2024 of the Brazilian Hospital Services Company (EBSERH) in the medical field.
Previous notices considered only certificates in the area of activity, excluding specialist titles in the areas of Radiology and Diagnostic Imaging and General Ultrasound.
Following the CBR's action, EBSERH demonstrated understanding and sensitivity in accepting the demands presented by the College, ensuring that the prerogatives of the radiologist were fully met and preserved.
The correction of the notice included the insertion and requirement of the RDDI Specialist Title, which covers methods such as: Ultrasound, Mammography, Bone Densitometry, Tomography, Magnetic Resonance Imaging, among others.

This decision not only values the specialty, but also strengthens the commitment to the quality of care and safety of patients treated by the company's hospital network.
The CBR specialist title in Radiology and Diagnostic Imaging (RDDI) certifies that the radiologist is qualified to perform and report on imaging exams using various methods such as: Tomography, Magnetic Resonance Imaging, X-ray, Mammography, Bone Densitometry, Ultrasound, among others.
The CBR reinforces the importance of the radiologist as an essential professional, qualified to work in all fields of Diagnostic Imaging, with specialized training and constant updating. This is an indispensable condition to ensure accurate diagnostic interpretations and contribute to the excellence of health care in Brazil.
“EBSERH’s decision to amend the notices reflects a clear understanding of the importance of preserving the prerogatives of radiologists. This demonstrates alignment with the highest quality standards in Diagnostic Imaging and is an achievement for the entire specialty.”, highlighted Dr. Juliana Tapajós, 2nd Vice-president of the CBR.
The College remains available to collaborate in similar situations, offering technical support and specialized guidance to ensure that the rights and duties of Radiology professionals are protected.
