CBR19 brings together around 3,000 participants in Fortaleza. Check out some highlights!

The Brazilian Congress of Radiology and Diagnostic Imaging, which returned to the Northeast of the country in 2019, was held from October 10 to 12 with a large audience. The event had a total of 15 rooms with simultaneous activities, 18 international speakers and more than 187 national ones, in addition to courses in several areas of interest to radiologists, specific programming for medical students, technicians and technologists. At the commercial exhibition, 31 stands were present.

The event stood out among the approximately 3,000 participants, being praised among congressmen in the most diverse aspects. The Doctor. Murilo Cesar Alves Menezes, from Belém, who has participated in the CBR congress and courses on other occasions, highlighted the range of activities offered and the contribution of international speakers.

“I thought the event was very good, with many different activities, courses during the event and in the pre-congress, in addition to good organization. I found the participation of international speakers interesting, who brought a lot of interesting content to us”, he said.

The Aula Magna of the first day of the congress “Challenges and opportunities for AI in radiology: towards precision prevention and precision”, by speaker Wiro Niessen on Artificial Intelligence, was one of the highlights of the program Best of ECR. “The topic is on the rise and the speaker rightly showed that AI is coming to complement and not to replace us. Of course, we will have to adjust and readapt, but I think this will apply to all professions, not just Medicine and Radiology and Medicine. It is an evolution and will bring improvements for the patient, which is what matters most”, added Dr. Murilo.

Already Dr. Marcus Vinicius Buratti, who is from São Paulo but currently lives in Fortaleza, participated in the event for the first time and approved. “I found the experience of participating to be very interesting, mainly because the event had renowned speakers from all over Brazil and the whole world. They brought up-to-date and recent studies of different pathologies and different areas of Radiology, which is very good”, he highlighted.

The Aula Magna of the second day of the event "Recent update in gadolinium contrast media”, by speaker Andrea Rockall was also among the highlights of the scientific program, as well as the course schedule, which covered several areas of interest to radiologists and imaging diagnosis, such as the Life Assistance Course in Radiology (held in the pre- congress), Hands-on Courses on LI-RADS, PI-RADS, BI-RADS, General Ultrasound and Gynecology and Obstetrics, Intensive Update Course on Ultrasound of the Musculoskeletal System, and SBNR Symposium – Imaging Assessment in Ischemic Stroke Acute, also with a hands on approach. In addition, during the three days, the program featured discussion forums on topics highly relevant to the specialty, such as radiological protection, telemedicine and professional defense.

The second day of the congress ended with great animation during the CCRP – Clinicopathological Correlation. A gymkhana of cases in Radiology was carried out with two teams, comprising radiologists from the CBR and from partner societies who were present, such as European Society of Radiology (ESR), American Society of Neuroradiology (ASNR) It is American Roentgen Ray Society (ARRS).

CBR received the congressmen in its stand, where it offered a space for the congressman to relax and interact with other participants. The CBR team was available to clarify doubts, provide information about the institution's benefits, update registrations, make associations, among other services.

At the stand, it was also possible to purchase the BI-RADS manual with a 25% discount in an exclusive promotion for the event. In addition, participants also received a folder on the benefits of CBR with a registration code and the first 20 who registered won a PRORAD.

In 2020, the event already has a date and place: from October 9 to 11 at the Windsor Convention & Expo Center, in Barra da Tijuca. It is the same place where it took place in 2018, in a highly successful edition. See you in RJ!
