Check out the social actions carried out by CBR during Breast Cancer Awareness Month (October).

This October, Brazilian College of Radiology and Diagnostic Imaging (CBR)The Brazilian College of Radiology (CBR) promoted several activities aimed at raising awareness and combating breast cancer. To kick off the month in style, on October 1st, 2025, the CBR's monthly webinar addressed the topic: "What have we done to reduce breast cancer mortality in our country?"

A Solidarity Radiology This campaign aims to increase awareness of the importance of early breast cancer diagnosis and provide access to mammograms for low-income women. More than 1,000 mammograms were donated and will be performed between October and December 2025 in more than 10 Brazilian states. The project was led by the Cultural Commission with the support of the National Mammography Commission (CNM-CBR) and involved partnerships with more than 35 clinics across Brazil.

Ivie Braga de Paula – radiologist, coordinator of the National Mammography Commission of the CBR (CNM) and member of the Cultural Commission of the CBR, and Luciane Stüpp de Freitas – radiologist, member of the Cultural Commission and full member of the CBR.

Episode 49, "Doctors in the Sertão," recounted the experience of Dr. Mariana Ferri – a breast radiologist from UNIFESP and a full member of the CBR – in a project that provided training in vacuum-assisted biopsy to doctors in the city of Cuité, located in the interior of Paraíba.
