CBR board sworn in for the 2021-2022 biennium in an online ceremony

The inauguration ceremony of the new board of the Brazilian College of Radiology and Diagnostic Imaging (CBR), biennium 2021-2022, chaired by Dr. Valdair Muglia, took place this Thursday afternoon (7), in the online format, and was attended by several former presidents, such as doctors Jaime Ribeiro Barbosa, Fernando Moreira, Sebastião Cezar Mendes Tramontin, Henrique Carrete, Manoel Rocha and Aldemir Humberto Soares, the latter who conducted the ceremony. Presidents of state societies and partner institutions also participated, as well as the entire team of collaborators of the College.

doctor Aldemir Humberto Soares started the ceremony by highlighting the challenges we are currently experiencing, which made the ceremony take place virtually. “Despite the difficulties, the pandemic encouraged an important technological growth necessary for the execution of activities, which were always seen naturally when carried out in person. Radiology has always been a protagonist in the acceptance and incorporation of technology, so it could not fail to show all its capacity by carrying out online activities, as was the expressive result of CBR20”.

Then he highlighted the components of the table: Dr. Manoel Rocha, President of the Advisory Board, Dr. Alair Sarmet Santos, president of the 2019-2020 biennium, Dr. Alexandra Monteiro, first secretary for the 2019-2020 biennium, and Dr. Valdair Muglia, president-elect.

In his speech, Dr. Alair Sarmet Santos reinforced his thanks, highlighting the main challenges and lessons learned during his tenure. “First of all, I thank God and my family for their support so that I had the opportunity to provide this service to CBR. I also thank each member of our board of directors, who supported me, guided me, helped me at all times. As I said in my inauguration speech, each one had a different experience and expertise, which contributed a lot for CBR to move forward in these two years”, he highlighted.

doctor Alair also reinforced his thanks to the Advisory Board, CBR employees and partners during his management and, specifically, in the year 2020, which was challenging and with many difficulties due to the COVID-19 pandemic. “I conclude by wishing all the luck in the world to the new management. I am available for whatever is necessary in favor of Radiology”, he concluded.

In the end, marking the inauguration of the new board, the new president of CBR, Dr. Valdair Muglia, emphasized in his speech the thanks to the colleagues who will be with him in the next two years for the trust reposed. In addition, he highlighted the efforts that the institution has been making over the years to increasingly serve and support its greatest asset, which are its associates.

“It is clear that our task is to continue what has already been done, promoting the necessary actions, and that we intend to serve each member, each associate in a very specific way, so that he feels attended to in all his demands. I would like to reiterate a view, which is not mine alone: CBR's greatest asset is its members. To continue this work, we will continue these next two years with all this work in favor of Brazilian Radiology, which is legitimately represented by the College. Giving a personal perspective, if you could transpose to the institutions a teaching of a great doctor of souls who says that those who look inside grow, I hope that this will also serve for this whole CBR process: looking inside to be able to awaken and grow ”, he concluded.
