Event in celebration of Radiological Protection Day counts with the participation of CBR

The Institute of Radioprotection and Dosimetry held, on April 15, an event to celebrate Radiological Protection Day.

The date is celebrated in Latin America and the Caribbean, in honor of Dr. Dan Jacobo Beninson who, on this same day, in 1996, received the Sievert Prize, the highest honor in this specialty.

CBR President Dr. Alair Sarmet Santos, participated in the opening panel. The objective of the event was to discuss the main problems, challenges and perspectives of radiological protection in Brazil.

Aware of issues related to the topic, the CBR launched the Radiological Protection Commission. An inaugural meeting marked the beginning of the work. On the occasion, together with the President of the College, physicists Hugo Schelin, Paulo Costa and Simone Kodlulovich, physicians Joaquim da Mota Leal Filho, Teresa Sarmet, Monica Bernardo, Hilton Muniz Leão Filho, Dolores Bustelo, Claudio Tinoco and nuclear energy engineer , Lidia Vasconcelos.
