For the first time in its history, the Brazilian College of Radiology and Diagnostic Imaging (CBR) promoted the international launch of one of its main scientific productions: the CBR Collection. The official presentation of the work — composed of 15 volumes covering all subspecialties and areas of radiology — took place during the 17th National Congress of Radiology (CNR), promoted by the Portuguese Society of Radiology and Nuclear Medicine (SPRMN), between May 21 and 24, in Peniche, Portugal.
The international launch reinforces the scientific protagonism of the CBR and the relevance of Brazilian radiology on the world stage. The collection was written by more than 800 authors, references in their fields in Brazil and abroad, and has become an editorial landmark due to its scope and technical quality.

The presentation was part of the official congress program and was led by the General Editor of the Collection and director of international relations of the CBR, Dr. Ronaldo Hueb Baroni, and by the president of the CBR, Dr. Rubens Chojniak.
The President of the CBR, Dr. Rubens Chojniak, comments on the importance of the launch of the CBR Collection being held in Portugal: “It is a source of pride for us, reinforcing our relationship of friendship and cooperation with the Portuguese Society of Nuclear Medicine (SPRMN) that has been established for a long time”. The representative of the College also adds: “We were happy and surprised that the SPRMN was interested. Initially, the collection had been produced for our audience, so it is a source of great satisfaction”.
Dr. Ronaldo Baroni – Director of International Relations at CBR and general editor of the CBR Collection – explains how SPRMN became interested in taking the books to Portugal: “They were in Salvador (BA) during the launch and saw how successful the collection was there, involving almost the entire radiology community with the 15 volumes. It was there (in Salvador - BA) that their interest was sparked, as it would be a reference book for continuing education in Portugal. Since then, we have been planning to launch the book at their invitation.”

Representatives of the two entities then participated in an institutional meeting to expand cooperation between Brazilian and Portuguese societies. The meeting was attended by the current president of SPRMN, Dr. João Leitão, the vice-president, Dr. Luísa Costa Andrade, and the former president, Dr. Luís Curvo Semedo, in addition to the directors of CBR. The discussions included exchange of specialists, cooperation in scientific events, professional qualification programs, degree processes, and initiatives aimed at quality in imaging diagnostics.
According to the CBR directors, the initiative symbolizes not only the appreciation of national scientific production, but also the consolidation of important institutional ties for the development of the specialty in the global context.
