The ANS (National Supplementary Health Agency) released, in November last year, the update of its List of Procedures for 2018. In total, 18 procedures were added, including exams, therapies and surgeries.
Among the Radiology and Diagnostic Imaging procedures that have been incorporated is Ultrasonic Liver Elastography, under code TUSS 40901793.
Since January 1, 2018, the test has become mandatory for beneficiaries of supplementary health plans governed by the ANS. The new codification came out in the December 2017 publication of the TISS (Information Exchange on Supplementary Health) standard in the TUSS (Unified Terminology of Supplementary Health).
This coverage is restricted according to the Technical Use Directive (DUT) established by the ANS. Check it out below:

Mandatory coverage for patients diagnosed with Hepatitis B, Hepatitis C, Post-transplant Hepatitis C, HIV and non-alcoholic liver disease, with suspected or diagnosed liver cirrhosis, in at least one of the following conditions:
The. initial diagnosis;
B. staging;
w. follow-up.
In addition to this procedure, the following were included:
– Arterial magnetic resonance angiography of the lower limb (with DUT): non-invasive imaging exam performed in magnetic resonance equipment to analyze the arteries of the lower limbs;
– Arterial computed tomography angiography of the lower limb (with DUT): non-invasive imaging exam performed using computed tomography to analyze the arteries of the lower limbs;
– Magnetic resonance imaging with CSF flow (with DUT): non-invasive diagnostic test to assess cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) flow;
– Percutaneous radiofrequency ablation for the treatment of osteoid osteoma: a procedure guided by imaging methods that uses special needles to cause cell damage by thermal action to benign bone tumor cells.
