Organ highlights, in official opinion, qualification and relevance of scientific content and editorial board
In the year in which the Brazilian College of Radiology and Image Diagnosis celebrates its 70th anniversary, another important achievement adds to its history: the journal Radiologia Brasileira (RB) won the support of the National Council for Scientific and Technological Development (CNPq), which , as a research promotion agency, linked to the Ministry of Science, Technology, Innovations and Communications (MCTIC), is responsible for participating in the formulation, execution, follow-up, evaluation and dissemination of the National Science and Technology Policy. The process was presented to CNPq on behalf of the journal's editor, Professor Edson Marchiori.
This is yet another recognition of the publication, which is now present in important databases such as SciELO, Scopus and Pubmed Central.
Published for the first time in 1958, the RB is the official scientific publication of the College and brings together articles in this specialty and in other areas that may have an impact on it. Its editorial board is formed by renowned professors and specialists with vast experience in the most diverse subspecialties, making RB the most important journal of its kind in Latin America, and not only for the scientific quality of the published articles, but also for the constant periodicity.
In addition to SciELO, Scopus and Pubmed Central, the journal is part of the group of journals indexed in LILACS (Latin American and Caribbean Literature on Health Sciences Information).
CNPq/CAPES Call No. 26/2017 – Editorial Program
After an alignment meeting held at the College's headquarters with the team involved, all the information from the journal was collected to prepare a project proposal, which was submitted on the council's website for Call CNPq/CAPES Nº 26/2017 – Program Editorial.
The process from launching the Call for Papers in the Official Gazette of the Union and on the CNPq website to the final disclosure of the approved proposals lasted approximately four months.
The official opinion of the CNPq justifies the support for the RB, highlighting, among other aspects, the high qualification of its editor and adequate indexing.
In 2017, the College also won the support of CNPq for the 46th Brazilian Congress of Radiology. At the time, the call for which the proposal was submitted focused on supporting national or world events whose objective is to contribute to the country's scientific and technological development and innovation.
