Last Sunday, May 20, six cities in Brazil simultaneously held the Specialist Title Test and Area of Practice Certificate of the Brazilian College of Radiology and Image Diagnosis (São Paulo, Rio de Janeiro, Recife, Curitiba, Brasília and Belo Horizonte). Horizon). In all, around 1500 candidates took the theoretical and/or theoretical-practical test, encompassing the areas of Radiology and Diagnostic Imaging, General Ultrasound, Ultrasound in Gynecology and Obstetrics, Vascular Ultrasound with Doppler, Diagnostic Neuroradiology, Therapeutic Neuroradiology, Bone Densitometry, Mammography and Interventional Radiology and Angioradiology.
According to Dr. Túlio Macedo, coordinator of the Titulation and Admission Committee of the Brazilian College of Radiology and Imaging Diagnosis, the test has registered an important evolution, being considered much more mature than years ago.
“The Proof of Title of Certificate of Practice evolved not only in the number of candidates, but mainly in terms of quality from a didactic, pedagogical and linguistic point of view. A significant fact about the differences in relation to previous editions is that we now have questions that deal with the theme 'Patient Safety', which was not addressed. This subject has been growing in different institutions around the world and for us it is no different, after all society has changed. That is why we consider it essential that the candidate has sufficient knowledge in this area, given that he will deal with it throughout his life”, he pointed out.
Among the participants, Dr. Vitor Barretos, from Salvador, who took the Interventional Radiology test, said that it is common for candidates to be apprehensive, as the content of the test is very broad. He also reinforced the importance of the Title in his career. “In the professional environment, it is important to have the recognition of society. In addition, it provides greater security for patients and for the institutions where we work”.
Already Dr. Silvano Roberto Ribeiro de Marins, from Santa Casa de Ribeirão Preto, took the Mammography test and highlighted points related to the content. In your opinion, the assessment was well prepared. “I found the test to be very complete, addressing topics related to the technical part, pathology, and interpretation of the mammographic examination, in addition to presenting questions related to conduct, such as biopsies, which I found very interesting”, he said.
In this edition of the Proof of Title of Certificate of Practice, CBR gave candidates an “anti-stress ball” with the College's visual identity as a gift. The item is designed to be tight, decreasing muscle and emotional tension through repetitive movement.
On June 23, candidates from the areas of General Ultrasound, Ultrasound in Gynecology and Obstetrics, Vascular Ultrasound with Doppler meet again for the second phase, constituted by the Apparatus Practical Test.
Candidates of Diagnostic Neuroradiology, Therapeutic Neuroradiology and Bone Densitometry will take the Practical Test on the same date, which, in these cases, consists of an interview.
In the Mammography Test, also scheduled for June 23, the evaluation is based on practical cases.
Candidates in Interventional Radiology and Angioradiology will undergo the second phase on August 11, with assessment consisting of an interview.
