In March, during the Annual Meeting of the Society of Abdominal Radiology (SAR), in Orlando, Florida, an important meeting was held between the directors of societies representing Radiology and radiologists from various Latin American countries to create the SAR Latin American chapter, bringing together abdominal radiologists from this region.
Present at CBR were doctors Valdair Muglia, scientific director, Dr. Leonardo Kayat, vice-president of Rio de Janeiro, and Ronaldo Baroni, member of the Scientific Committee, in addition to Dr. Paulo Andrade, president of SRPE, along with other national radiologists and from the most diverse countries, such as Argentina, Chile, Mexico, Colombia, Peru and Ecuador. For SAR were present, the current president, Dr. Bernard F. King, the future president, Dr. Jonathan B. Kruskal and Dr. William Mayo-Smith, who is coordinating this interaction between Latin American radiologists and North American radiologists, among other representatives.
“We discussed what would be the ways to materialize this union of radiologists specialized in Abdominal Radiology in Latin America and it was agreed that the SAR will contact the representatives of the entities to discuss the organization of this chapter”, explains Dr. Valdair.
