Follow-up of the cirrhosis and hepatocellular carcinoma care line by remote monitoring center

The Brazilian Liver Institute (IBRAFIG), linked to the Brazilian Society of Hepatology (SBH), requested, in 2020, support from the Brazilian College of Radiology and Image Diagnosis (CBR) with the aim of improving the line of care for patients with cirrhosis . Indeed, most people with cirrhosis in Brazil are diagnosed with hepatocellular carcinoma at a late stage, due to the lack of adequate screening by ultrasound, either due to the examination being performed at intervals outside the indicated time or due to the technical difficulty in detecting suspicious hepatic nodules. in cirrhotic liver.

The project aims to map the network of radiology services that have professionals certified by the CBR, able to perform screening for hepatocellular carcinoma, so that they can receive patients from public and private services accompanied by SBH members.

Within the scope of the project, the CBR will prepare a brief online introduction (15 minutes) recapitulating the main points that the radiologist should include in his report, based on the findings verified in the exam.

If you are interested in collaborating with the program, we suggest following the guidelines regarding your participation, indicated at the end of the text. IBRAFIG will use your data to map the HCC screening network in Brazil in order to refer patients according to the public or private care network eventually accredited to participating clinics.

Your participation is very important to change the gloomy scenario of late diagnosis of hepatocellular carcinoma in Brazil.
