External Auditor Padi 2023: Learn how to become an external auditor and its main functions

Applications for the external auditor process of the Diagnostic Imaging Accreditation Program (PADI) 2023 are open. The program was launched in 2014 and aims to improve and preserve the quality of services provided to patients. The auditor is responsible for ensuring compliance with all Padi standards.

But who can be an external auditor?

Professionals who work with the development, maintenance and improvement of the quality management system in radiology and diagnostic imaging services. As well as consultants, managers and other professionals in this sector.

The Brazilian College of Radiology and Image Diagnosis (CBR) plays a fundamental role through Padi, in ensuring that candidates for the selection process, after training and fulfilling all stages, are able to carry out external audits, based on the Standard and Regulations of the Padi methodology. To this end, it offers the Padi external auditor course, which requires the candidate to complete the course “Understanding the Padi Standard Version 5”.

In addition to the obligation of this training, the student needs to reach an average of 70% in the tests that are carried out. Understanding how to audit, analyze, collect evidence, plan and coordinate the activities of an audit team are some of the main expected objectives. At the end of the course, successful candidates may have their name included in the database of the Padi auditors group, for up to two years.

Understanding the stages of the selection process for Padi external auditor

The process consists of three stages and all of them are eliminatory. First, it is necessary to send, within the period established in the Test Process Schedule, all the documents requested and that are listed in the Public Notice. After that, take the Padi External Auditor course and be approved upon completion.

The last step is the online theoretical test with objective and essay questions. Please note that registrations will only be accepted for Individuals. Therefore, applications as a Legal Entity will be automatically disqualified.

For reasons of internal regulation, related to technical order and copyright, at the end of the selection process, CBR does not provide the templates or copies of the tests. Appeal requests for those wishing to contest the result must be submitted within seven calendar days after the announcement of the approved ones. The training of these professionals, who now perform the role of auditor, aims to benefit patients. Because carrying out quality exams is one of the guarantees that an accredited institution guarantees to its user.
