Throughout its history, the College has had 34 presidents, 6 different headquarters and held 53 Congresses.
The Brazilian College of Radiology and Diagnostic Imaging (CBR) celebrates its 76th anniversary this Sunday (September 15). The College was founded in 1948, during the 1st Brazilian Radiology Conference, which took place at the Faculty of Medicine of the University of São Paulo (FMUSP), in São Paulo (SP).
Since its foundation, the College has been working for more than seven and a half decades to benefit radiologists and Brazilian radiology. The CBR works on several fronts, from professional defense to quality education and training for our members.
Over the years, the College has had 34 presidents who have led the entity.
Meet all the CBR presidents over these 76 years:
Over the past 76 years, the CBR has had several addresses in the city of São Paulo (SP). The school's first location was on Rua Sete de Abril in 1950. Then, the CBR was headquartered on Rua Marconi between 1951 and 1957. The third location where the institution was located was Walter Bonfim Pontes' office, located on Rua Major Quedinho. In 1959, the CBR headquarters were moved to Avenida Angélica. Since 1968, the school's headquarters have been located at Avenida Paulista, 491, but the address was changed in 2007. The institution was set up at Avenida Paulista, 37, 7th floor – building 71, which is the current address of the school. In all, we have had six locations over the past 76 years.

In addition to its history, the College is an entity concerned with the evolution of Brazilian Radiology. Because of this, the main event of the CBR, the 53rd Brazilian Congress of Radiology and Diagnostic Imaging, has the theme: “Radiology of the Future, now”.
Speaking of the Brazilian Congress of Radiology and Diagnostic Imaging, this traditional event has remained the College's main event over the past 76 years. At the beginning of our history, the Congress had a different name, at the time it was called the Brazilian Radiology Conference. In addition to the name change, the Congress became an annual event in 1997.

After the capital of Rio de Janeiro, comes the capital of São Paulo, which hosted the event on seven occasions. Next comes Curitiba (PR) and Salvador (BA), which hosted the event six times. It is worth mentioning that the National Congress of Radiology and Diagnostic Imaging has already been held in 14 different cities in 11 different states.
