The agreement signing ceremony took place on November 16, 2022, at the CBR headquarters in São Paulo (SP) and was attended by Dr. Valdair Muglia - President of CBR; doctor Rui Gilberto Ferreira - President of SBUS; doctor Bernardo Tessarollo - First Secretary of the CBR; doctor Rubens Chojniak - First CBR treasurer; doctor Aldemir Soares – Director of Institutional Relations at CBR; doctor Harley de Nicola – Coordinator of the National Commission on Ultrasound (CNUS); doctor Waldemar Naves do Amaral - representative of the SBUS Advisory Board and Dr. Mauricio Saito – Fiscal Council President of SBUS.
The agreement celebrates the strengthening of the representativeness of Ultrasound in the country and from now on, the medical entities will walk together in the organization of the exam for the Title of Specialist with Performance in Ultrasound, which takes place annually.
Under the agreement, SBUS will participate in the National Commission on Ultrasound (CNUS) of the CBR, indicating 3 members. In addition to the numerous activities related to the practice of US in the country, the
The Commission also acts in the title tests, carried out by the CBR, together with the AMB, as mentioned.
The agreement also provides for the cessation of attempts to transform Ultrasonography into a specialty and any type of examination in the area of ultrasound, not approved by the Joint Specialties Commission (CFM/ AMB/MEC).
The entities recognize the huge challenges and threats to the practice of Ultrasound in the country and will act, together, for its development and strengthening, aiming at the benefit of all who use it and especially, the patients.
The contract was drafted and endorsed together with the Advisory Boards of the two entities, formed by their former presidents.
In the future, CBR members will be able to access the terms of the agreement on the CBR website, in the area restricted to members (Member Space).
