CFM presents a new Code of Ethics to the President of the Republic

The Board of the Federal Council of Medicine (CFM) presented the President of the Republic, Jair Bolsonaro, and the Minister of Health, Henrique Mandetta, with the new Code of Medical Ethics (CEM), detailed in Resolution No. next April 30th. The meeting was held on April 16 and, on the occasion, the representatives of the autarchy presented an agenda with four items of claims for the category. The list presented includes: the creation of a State career for physicians in the public network (SUS); and the definition of the National Examination for the Revalidation of Medical Diplomas (Revalida), by means of federal law, as the only means of access for holders of Medicine diplomas obtained abroad to the Brazilian market. The doctors also asked for the recognition of the Accreditation System of Medical Schools (Saeme), of the CFM, as the official platform for evaluating medical courses in the country; and the updating of Presidential Decree No. 44,054/1958, which regulates Law No. 3,268/1957, based on current legislation and practices.
