QUALISS aims to encourage the qualification of all health service providers (hospitals, clinics, laboratories and health professionals) in supplementary health and consists of disclosing previously defined qualification attributes in a transparent manner and assessing the qualification of service providers . In this way, QUALISS increases the availability of information so that beneficiaries and society in general have more power of evaluation and choice. It is an initiative of the National Supplementary Health Agency (ANS) to induce the improvement of the quality of health care.
In April 2017, ANS disclosed, for the first time, quality information on all providers participating in the program. Among the participating institutions, there are health professionals, clinics, emergency services, hospitals, day hospitals, laboratories and home care services (homecare), offering subsidies so that users can choose and compare services. Part of this information was disclosed through a search tool.
Health professionals
The professional qualification disclosed (Title of Specialist, Residency, Master's, Doctorate and Postgraduate Lato sensu) includes 35,000 health professionals, including nurses, pharmacists, physiotherapists, speech therapists, nutritionists, physicians, dentists, psychologists and occupational therapists, and is available in a list published in Agency Portal on the QUALISS page.
Recently, the ANS perfected this system for seeking the qualification of health providers. Among the novelties are the new visual identity, the interface and the inclusion of a search for institutions with a core of patient safety or that carry out one or more quality induction projects: Parto Adequado, Elderly Well Care and OncoRede.
For accreditation, which is an external verification to assess the quality of care through a set of previously established standards, from now on, the user will be able to filter accredited providers by type of Accreditation: Padi, JCI, ONA 3, etc.
