After being held in São Paulo, at the headquarters of the Brazilian College of Radiology and Diagnostic Imaging (CBR), the Life Assistance Course in Radiology (AVR) will take place this month in Belo Horizonte, on March 17th.
The program includes theoretical-practical classes, with training for accessing the airways (mask and tube ventilation, orotracheal intubation and cricothyroidostomy), cardiovascular resuscitation (external cardiac massage, electrical cardioversion and use of drugs during cardiac arrest) and guidance on situations where there is a risk of imminent death (venous access and manipulation of the polytraumatized patient). Participants also attend theoretical classes on contrast media (characteristics of contrast media, adverse reactions, risk factors and prevention) and learn a protocol for treating adverse reactions to contrast media.
The course will provide those approved with a certificate of sufficiency (assessment by monitors during practical classes and written test) at the end of the course.
The doctor who does not pass the practical evaluation must repeat the course and, if he does not obtain the minimum score in the written test, he can repeat the exam on a date to be scheduled.
