The "CBR ESOR Asklepios Chest Course 2023 – Thoracic Radiology” will take place in two cities in Brazil

The European School of Radiology (ESOR) together with the European Society of Radiology (ESR), a partner of the Brazilian College of Radiology and Image Diagnosis (CBR), will make available to Brazilian radiologists the “CBR ESOR Course Asklepios Chest 2023 – Thoracic Radiology”, which will be applied in two cities in the country. The first location will be in Belo Horizonte (MG), at the Mercure Belo Horizonte Lourdes Hotel, on August 24th. Next, the course will take place in Salvador (BA), at Novotel Salvador Rio Vermelho, on August 26th. 

About the course

The course aims to develop and update participants in best practice in chest radiology. During the whole class day, the wide spectrum of different pulmonary diseases and the respective findings in chest radiology will be presented. The course focuses on clinical needs, technical solutions and appropriate application of images and patterns in diagnosis and decision making in cases such as: infectious and non-infectious inflammatory lung diseases, pulmonary nodules, pulmonary embolism, among other topics.

Course Objectives

According to ESOR, the objectives of the course are: “to learn about the latest advances in the treatment of pulmonary nodules, in particular the subsolids, as well as in the screening and staging of lung cancer. Understand the diagnostic benefits of the standard approach in diagnosing inflammatory lung diseases such as bacterial, viral, and fungal pneumonia, tuberculosis, hypersensitivity pneumonitis, and idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis. To consolidate knowledge about current best practices in the diagnosis and radiological treatment of pulmonary embolism”.

Class Themes

Classes will be taught on the following topics:

  • Pulmonary embolism and hypertension;
  • Interstitial lung disease with a focus on IPF and DDx;
  • Interstitial lung disease with a focus on hypersensitivity pneumonitis and vasculitis;
  • Pulmonary and pleural neoplasms: DDx and Staging;
  • Airway and infectious diseases;
  • DDx and management of consolidations and opacities in ground glass.
