“A practical assessment of the clinical and imaging aspects of demyelinating diseases”: this is the theme of the next CBR Webinar, on August 8th, Monday, from 7 pm, on Workplace and on the Colégio’s official YouTube channel.
Demyelinating diseases are diseases in which the myelin sheath of neurons is damaged, which impairs the conduction of signals in the affected nerves, causing impairments in sensation, movement, cognition and other functions. Among the demyelinating diseases of the central nervous system are: Multiple Sclerosis, Transverse Myelitis and Devic's Disease. Among those of the peripheral nervous system is the Guillain-Barré Syndrome.
The online meeting with renowned specialists promoted by CBR will have lectures by Anna Christiany Brandão Nascimento, PhD in Neurology from the Federal University of the State of Rio de Janeiro (UNIRIO), specialist in Radiology and Diagnostic Imaging; Eric Pinheiro de Andrade, neuro-ophthalmologist, head of the Neuro-ophthalmology sector at the HSPE-IAMSPE Ophthalmology Clinic and COREME coordinator at the Vision Institute – IPEPO; and Nathalie Stéphanie Meneguette, master and doctoral student in Neurology at UNIRIO.
The edition's coordinators are Leonardo Lopes de Macedo and Pablo Picasso de Araújo Coimbra, who will participate in a debate with Felipe Pacheco and Paulo Roberto Valle Bahia. The general coordination is by Luciana Costa, scientific director of CBR, and Ronaldo Baroni, deputy scientific director.
