On behalf of all Brazilian Radiology and with great regret, the Brazilian College of Radiology and Image Diagnosis (CBR) announces the death of doctor and friend Dr. Amarino Carvalho de Oliveira, icon of Medicine and one of the most important radiologists in this country. With his deep knowledge, Dr. Amarino contributed to the training of countless radiologists, from the IAPC in the 1950s to the Hospital Samaritano, more recently. In addition, he was head of several services, president of the Brazilian Society of Radiology (current Society of Radiology of Rio de Janeiro) and was an honorary member of the National Academy of Medicine. His brilliant professional and personal trajectory will always be an inspiration for everyone in Radiology.
