A trio and multiple perspectives on Radiology today and in the future

A trio and multiple perspectives on Radiology today and in the future!

‍Check out what the official opening of CBR20 has in store for you!

The official opening of the 49th edition of the Brazilian Congress of Radiology will be held separately on October 4th, that is, it will be the only activity of the event on that day. That's because it won't be a common opening, far from it, it will be a unique and special moment in this event that has been prepared in the midst of so many novelties.

With the theme “The new textures”, the CBR20 draws attention to the fact that, more and more, the radiologist looks at the radiological image not as a single image, but as a series of information in multiple layers, expanding the role of radiology.

From this perspective and realizing the multiple layers that make art (or part of) reality, CBR20 brings three renowned guests to this moment.

The first of them, guest of honor at the event, is Dr. Paul Parizel, former President of the European Society of Radiology and the European Society of Neuroradiology, and current head of the Department of Radiology at Western Australia University.

In its approach, it will bring a vision of a promising future for radiologists, taking into account the new practices of the specialty, and how we can have a greater and more assertive insertion within new health contexts.

And, to help with these reflections and the understanding of these new perspectives in Radiology and health, the official opening of CBR20 will also be attended by Fábio Gandour, who is a physician and was chief scientist of the Brazilian laboratory of the IBM Research Division and has a Professional trajectory very connected with Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning research. It will bring, in a simple and light way, a current look at technology, demystifying concepts and showing how technological advances influence medical practice today and how they will influence in the future.

Composing the team of specialists and the multiple perspectives on our specialty, we brought in Paula Englert, partner and CEO of Box1824, one of the main trend and behavior research companies that works globally as a consultant for large companies. The objective is to provide the public with an insight into how society has been transforming its relationship and expectations in relation to the health system.

“The idea is to look to the future, reflect on it in order to prepare ourselves, on a daily basis, for each transformation. That's why we will have the approach of a specialist, a radiologist dealing with management and transformation, from a positive perspective on how we can reward ourselves in this emerging future; a doctor who worked in the market practice in innovation research in a large company, demystifying new technologies, and a specialist in behavior and society, showing what she expects from health professionals. I invite all colleagues to participate, as this activity will certainly contribute to new reflections and changes in attitude”, says Dr. Valdair Muglia, scientific director of the CBR.

It is important to note that this activity will be live, broadcast directly on the digital platform where the event will take place, and will not be recorded.
