Discover the Atualiza 24 courses - National Radiology Circuit

Update 24, the biggest event Hands-on online professional update program in Radiology around the world, taking place from April 5th to 7th, 2024, via 100% online. This will be the fourth edition of Atualiza, which aims to promote the teaching of Diagnostic Imaging through a highly participatory format, encouraging interaction between students and teachers. This year, we will have 26 courses in 12 different radiological subspecialties.

In total, there will be one Head and Neck course, two on Cardiovascular, three on Gastrointestinal, three on Genitourinary, three on Breast, two on Hybrid Methods, two on Musculoskeletal, three on Neuroradiology, one on Oncology, one on Pediatrics, two on Female Pelvis and three Thorax.

Head and neck

In this subspecialty, we will have the “Temporal Bones” course, which takes place on April 6th, from 9am to 12:15pm (Brasília time). The course aims to address topics relevant to the daily practice of radiologists, including: normal anatomy, malformations, inflammatory processes, otosclerosis, trauma, tumors and post-operative care.
The coordinators are: Dr. Eloisa M. Santiago Gebrim and Dr. Regina Lúcia Elia Gomes.

Cardiovascular

In the cardiovascular curriculum, the courses "Coronary CT angiography: What the radiologist needs to know" and "CT angiography and MR angiography in internal medicine: What the radiologist needs to know" are available. Both activities take place on Saturday (April 6), Coronary tomography angiography will be from 9 am to 12:15 pm and CT angiography and magnetic resonance angiography activities
will take place from 2pm to 5:15pm. The course coordinators are: Dr. Gustavo Lemos Pelandré and Dr. Roberto Sasdelli Neto.

Gastrointestinal

The first course in the schedule is “Structured reports in gastrointestinal radiology”, which takes place on Saturday (April 6), from 9 am to 12:15 pm. The course is coordinated by doctors: Adriano de Araujo Lima Liguori, Eduardo Oliveira Pacheco and Giuseppe D'Ippolito. The second activity also takes place on April 6th, but in the afternoon, from 2pm to 5:15pm, and has the theme “Rectal cancer: beyond staging” and is coordinated by Dr. Luciana Costa, Dr. Natally de Souza Maciel Rocha Horvat and Dr. Giuseppe D'Ippolito. On Sunday (April 7th), we will have the “LiRads” course, which takes place from 9 am to 12:15 pm, coordinated by Dr. Daniella Braz Parente and Dr. Giuseppe D'Ippolito.

Genitourinary

The course with the theme “Images of kidney neoplasms from basic to advanced” takes place on Saturday (6th of
April) from 9 am to 12:15 pm. The second activity takes place on the same day, but in the afternoon, from 2pm to 5:15pm, and has the theme “Magnetic resonance of the prostate: from detection to post-treatment”. The last subspecialty course has the theme “Penis imaging and testicle: everything the radiologist needs to know” and takes place on Sunday, from 9 am to 12:15 pm The coordinators are: Dr. Alice Schuch, Dr. Fernando Morbeck, Dr. Mauricio Zapparoli and Dr. Ronaldo Baroni.

breast

The Breast schedule will feature the course “Tomosynthesis: mammography in evolution”, from 9 am to 12:15 pm, on Saturday (April 6). The coordination will be by Dr. Aline Dias Silva Guerreiro Guimarães. The other course has the theme “Breast ultrasound in practice using dynamic images", which will take place on the same day, in the afternoon, from 2pm to 5:15pm and is coordinated by doctors Beatriz Medicis Maranhão Miranda and Paula de Camargo Moraes. Lastly and not least, we will have the “Breast MRI: improving performance” course, Sunday (April 7), from 9 am to 12:15 pm. coordinators: Drs. Ivie Braga de Paula and Ana Cláudia Mendes Rodrigues.

Hybrid Methods

At Atualiza 24, we will have two Hybrid Methods courses. The first of them is: “PET PSMA: What every radiologist and every nuclear doctor needs to know” and takes place on April 6th (Saturday), from 9am to 12:15pm (Brasília time). On the same day, in the afternoon, from 2pm to 5:15pm, we will have the “Neurological PET: What every radiologist and nuclear doctor needs to know” course. The course coordinators are: Dr. Marcelo Araujo Queiroz and Dr. Sara de Melo Macedo Santana.

Skeletal muscle

Two courses are included in the schedule, the first has the theme "Infections in MSK" and takes place on Saturday (6th), from 9 am to 12:15 pm. The second also takes place on Saturday, from 2pm to 5:15pm, and has the theme: "Emergency in MSK". The course coordinators are: Dr. Aline Serfaty, Dr. Francisco Abaeté das Chagas Neto and Dr. Marcelo Bordalo Rodrigues.

neuroradiology

The course “Approach to the differential diagnosis of cerebral expansile lesions” takes place on Saturday (April 6), from 9 am to 12:15 pm and is coordinated by Dr. Leonardo Lopes de Macedo. On the same day, the course on “Imaging approach to head and spinal cord trauma” will take place, from 2pm to 5:15pm, and also coordinated by Dr. Leonardo Lopes de Macedo. And the last course in this schedule, coordinated by Dr. Felipe Torres Pacheco, will take place on Sunday (April 7), from
9am to 12:15pm, with the theme “CNS vascular emergencies”. Oncology The oncology course includes an activity, which will be coordinated by doctors: Marcony Queiroz Andrade and Paula Nicole Vieira Pinto Barbosa. The theme is “Review and application of the main RADS in abdominal and thoracic radiology”, from 2 pm to 5:15 pm, on Saturday (April 6).

Pediatrics

Coordinated by doctors Dolores Del Carmen Tanus Bustelo and Tatiana Fazecas, the “Pediatric Radiology and Ultrasonography: All Imaging Methods” course will take place on Saturday (April 6), from 9am to 12:15pm. The activity will address important day-to-day pathologies of exams requested in children and adolescents, highlighting the imaging methods recommended for investigation and the main findings
imaging for diagnosis.

Female Pelvis

The “Placenta Imaging Assessment” course is coordinated by Dr. Alice Cristina Coelho Brandão, Dr. Caroline Lorenzoni Almeida Ghezzi, Dr. Patricia Prando Cardia and Dr. Luis Ronan Marquez
Ferreira de Souza, and takes place on Saturday (April 6) from 9am to 12:15pm. The second activity in the schedule also takes place on Saturday, but will take place from 2pm to 5:15pm, with the theme “Be an expert in O-RADS”. However, the coordination will be Dr. Alice Cristina Coelho Brandão, Dr. Patricia Prando Cardia and Dr. Luis Ronan Marquez Ferreira de Souza.

Chest

On Saturday (April 6), Atualiza 24 will offer two courses on the chest schedule: The first will be in the morning, from 9am to 12:15pm, with the theme “Basque patterns in high-resolution tomography: case-based review”, coordinated by Dr. Pedro Paulo Teixeira e Silva Torres. The second will take place in the afternoon, from 2pm to 5:15pm. Coordinated by Dr. Gilberto Szarf, the course has the theme “How do I report? Tips on thoracic images. On Sunday (April 7), the last day of the event, we will have the course “Mediastino: Anatomy, compartmentalization and differential diagnoses”, coordinated by Dr. Luciana Volpon Soares Souza.
