JPR'2017: latest details

It's coming: the 47th São Paulo Day of Radiology (JPR'2017) will be held between the 4th and 7th of May at the Transamerica Expo Center (TEC), in São Paulo (SP). The event is organized by the São Paulo Society of Radiology and Diagnostic Imaging (SPR), in partnership with the French Society of Radiology (SFR).

This will not be the first time that both entities work together in order to provide Brazilian radiologists with the improvement of their knowledge and the consequent growth of their professional quality. Sixteen years ago, the Musculoskeletal Radiology Study Group at SPR held a specific course, also during the São Paulo Day of Radiology, alongside the Study and Work Group on Osteoarticular Radiology (GETROA). Years later, a new meeting between the two fronts took place during JPR'2009, and was called “I France-Brazil-Latin America Congress of Radiology”.

It is worth mentioning that the French Society of Radiology, an organization made up of 23 regional delegations, is not for profit – by the way, all radiologists who collaborate with it do so on a voluntary basis. With the main objective of developing knowledge on all subjects related to Radiology, the SFR has managed to build a wide network of close relationships with various scientific societies in the Old Continent, as it is affiliated with international and European radiological institutions.

Considered the largest meeting in the area in Latin America and the fourth largest in the world, JPR is almost half a century old. At the end of April last year, when it had its 46th edition, the event was attended by around 15 thousand people, including visitors, exhibitors, guests, coordinators, professors, delegates and support teams. On that occasion, more than a hundred companies had the chance to present their portfolios to the public, who were also able to absorb the knowledge and share the experience of 560 professors, 60 of whom were international. Altogether, this group of radiologists taught 27 different courses.

This year, the official title is “47th Jornada Paulista de Radiologia/II Congress France-Brazil-Latin America of Radiology (JPR'2017)”, and its central theme is patient-oriented: “French Radiology: human relations and good medical practice”.

Check out the specialties that will be part of this essential meeting of Brazilian and foreign radiological authorities: Biomedical, Head and Neck, Cardiovascular, BI-RADS™ Course, Course Latin Safe, Course Ultrasonography Flaus, Densitometry, Education, Introduction to Research, Nursing in Radiology, Physics in Radiodiagnosis, Imaging of Women, Informatics in Radiology, Image-Guided Intervention, Breast, Internal Medicine, Nuclear Medicine, Musculoskeletal, Neuroradiology, Oncology, Pediatrics, PET/CT, Professionalism, Leadership and Management in Health, General Radiology, SEADI – Support in Adverse Events in Diagnostic Imaging, Technicians and Technologists in Radiology, Thorax and General Ultrasound.

Scientific papers and special sessions

With regard to panels and free themes, last month all scientific abstracts approved for presentations or exhibitions at JPR'2017 were announced: 80 printed panels (PA), 157 digital panels (PD), 41 free themes (TL), 14 case reports (RC) and eight commented panels, which were selected among the best printed and digital panels. According to the informed schedule, the presentations will take place during the lunch period (from 12:45 pm to 1:30 pm) on the first and second days of the event.

A very important tip concerns what will undoubtedly be one of the most popular presentations at JPR: the image interpretation session (CCRP). As is known, its main objective is the discussion between participants and invited radiologists about advanced cases in Diagnostic Imaging. Under the coordination of Dr. Mauro José Brandão da Costa, four professors will lead it: Dr. Alípio Gomes Ormond Filho (Musculoskeletal), Dr. Renato Hoffmann Nunes (Neuroradiology), Dr. Roberto Blasbalg (Abdome) and Dr. Pablo Rydz Pinheiro Santana (Chest). Confirmed for Room P of the Transamerica Expo Center, the session will take place at 5:45 pm on May 5th.

If you want to participate in JPR'2017, registrations must be made at the event venue.
