It's coming: the 47th Paulista Day of Radiology (JPR'2017) will be held between the 4th and 7th of May at the Transamerica Expo Center (TEC), in São Paulo (SP). The event is organized by the Paulista Society of Radiology and Diagnostic Imaging (SPR), which has the partnership of the French Society of Radiology (SFR).
This will not be the first time that both entities have worked together to provide Brazilian radiologists with the enhancement of their knowledge and the consequent growth of their professional quality. 16 years ago, the SPR Musculoskeletal Radiology Study Group held a specific course, also during the Paulista Day of Radiology, alongside the Osteoarticular Radiology Study and Work Group (GETROA). Years later, a new meeting between the two fronts took place during JPR'2009, and was called the “I France-Brazil-Latin America Radiology Congress”.
It is noteworthy that the French Society of Radiology, an organization made up of 23 regional delegations, is non-profit - by the way, all collaborating radiologists do so on a voluntary basis. With the main objective of developing knowledge on all subjects related to Radiology, SFR has managed to build a wide network of close relationships with various scientific societies of the Old Continent, as it is affiliated with international and European radiological institutions.
Considered the largest gathering in the area in Latin America and the fourth largest in the world, JPR has nearly half a century of life. At the end of April last year, when its 46th edition was held, the event was attended by visitors, exhibitors, guests, coordinators, teachers, congressmen and support teams of about 15,000 people. At the time, more than a hundred companies had the chance to present their portfolios to the public, who could also absorb the knowledge and share the experience of 560 teachers, 60 of them international. In all, this host of radiologists gave 27 separate courses.
This year, the official title is “47th Paulista Journey of Radiology / II France-Brazil-Latin America Congress of Radiology (JPR'2017)”, and its central theme is focused on the patient: “French Radiology: Human Relations and good medical practice ”.

Scientific papers and special sessions
With regard to panels and free themes, all approved abstracts for presentations or exhibitions at JPR'2017 were announced last month: 80 printed panels (PA), 157 digital panels (PD), 41 free themes (TL), 14 case reports (RC) and eight commented panels, which were selected from the best printed and digital panels. According to the informed schedule, presentations will take place during the lunch period (from 12:45 pm to 1:30 pm) on the first and second days of the event.
A very important tip concerns what will undoubtedly be one of JPR's busiest presentations: the image interpretation session (CCRP). As is well known, its main objective is the discussion between participants and guest radiologists about advanced cases in Imaging Diagnosis. Under the coordination of Dr. Mauro José Brandão da Costa, there will be four teachers who will lead her: Dr. Alípio Gomes Ormond Filho (Musculoskeletal), Dr. Renato Hoffmann Nunes (Neuroradiology), Dr. Roberto Blasbalg (Abdome) and Dr. Pablo Rydz Pinheiro Santana (Thorax). Confirmed for Room P of the Transamerica Expo Center, the session will be held at 5:45 pm on May 5.
If you wish to participate in JPR'2017, entries must be made at the event venue.
