New and important Educa CBR actions are launched with a focus on residents

On the day of the 2020 Annual Resident Assessment, on January 26, minutes before the exam began, a video of Dr. Alair Sarmet Santos, President of CBR. In addition to wishing the participants good luck, Dr. Alair spoke about the importance of the exam for residents and for teaching Radiology. “Right now you are not only carrying out the individual evaluation, but you are representing the institutions to which you belong. This is one of the criteria that the Medical Teaching, Improvement and Residency Commission (CEAR) of the College has in order to promote the improvement of the learning process of residents and trainees in Radiology throughout Brazil”, he declared. Additionally, Dr. Alair officially presented two important novelties of the College: the Brazilian Radiological Cases, BRAD Cases® and the ESOR and CBR Scholarship Program. The first is a completely free repository of case reports, which was born from the idea of a group of radiologists involved in teaching the specialty, who realized the need for this type of tool for professional development, especially for those who are starting in the exercise of radiology. To learn about and publish your case reports, visit: http://brad.org.br/ The ESOR and CBR Scholarship Program is an internship program promoted between the European School of Radiology (ESOR) and the Brazilian College of Radiology and Image Diagnosis (CBR). Three (3) scholarships will be offered to third-year residents/researchers (level 3) in Radiology and Imaging Diagnosis, Brazilians, carefully selected based on their performance in the 2020 Annual Resident Assessment. will provide the opportunity to study in a highly qualified residency program in Europe, recommended by ESOR. Supervised by specialized preceptors, residents will be introduced to a specific subspecialty module in Radiology and Diagnostic Imaging and will have the opportunity to follow and participate in the basic training program, which will take place through tutorials and lectures, followed by practical training about routine clinical cases and/or techniques and protocols of the modalities. It will be possible to choose between the following subspecialties: Neuroradiology, Thoracic Radiology, Musculoskeletal, Abdominal Imaging and Breast Radiology. The winners will receive an amount of €3,500.00 to subsidize their travel, accommodation, food and health insurance expenses, as the training will be offered free of charge.
