On the day of the Annual Residents Assessment 2020, on January 26, minutes before the exam begins, a video of Dr. Alair Sarmet Santos, president of CBR, was broadcast in all rooms. In addition to wishing the participants good luck, Dr. Alair spoke about the importance of the exam for residents and for teaching Radiology.
“Right now you are not only doing the individual assessment, but you are representing the institutions that you belong to. This is one of the criteria that the College's Teaching, Improvement and Medical Residency Commission (CEAR) has to be able to promote the improvement of the training of residents and students in Radiology throughout Brazil ”, he declared.
In addition, Dr. Alair officially presented two important news from the College: Brazilian Radiological Cases, BRAD Cases® and the Scholarship Program ESOR and CBR.
The first is a repository of case reports totally free, which was born from the idea of a group of radiologists involved in teaching the specialty, who realized the need for this type of tool for professional development, especially those who start in the exercise of the profession. The Scholarship Program ESOR and CBR is an internship program promoted between the European School of Radiology (ESOR) and the Brazilian College of Radiology and Diagnostic Imaging (CBR). Three (3) scholarships will be offered to third year residents / students (level 3) in Radiology and Diagnostic Imaging, Brazilians, carefully selected based on their performance in the Annual Residents Assessment 2020.
With a three-month duration, the Program will provide the opportunity to study in a highly qualified residency program in Europe, appointed by ESOR. Supervised by specialized tutors, residents will be introduced to a specific subspecialty module in Radiology and Diagnostic Imaging and will have the opportunity to follow and participate in the basic training program, which will take place through tutorials and lectures, followed by practical training. about routine clinical cases and / or techniques and protocols of the modalities. It will be possible to choose between the following subspecialties: Neuroradiology, Chest Radiology, Musculoskeletal, Abdominal Imaging and Breast Radiology.
Winners will receive € 3,500 to subsidize their travel, accommodation, food and health insurance expenses, as the training will be offered free of charge.
